Unhappy Reminder as to why we should all drive defensively regardless

Guys, I lost a fellow rider on Friday night. He was racing a novice rider riding southbound on I-65 when he began to approach a curve. Before entering the curve he looked over his shoulder to see where the novice rider was. By the time he looked up it was too late. He ran off the road and the front end started shaking. He ended up hitting a light pole head first. His helmet shattered and killed him on impact. One of the other riders started doing chest compressions on him. His chest would come up but when he stopped putting air in his lungs, he would exhale blood.

All of this would have been avoided it he would not have been racing and assing off. I know racing is something we all like to do every now and then but damn, lets keep it on the strip. Now this guy left behind a wife and a child. All for nothing!

ya know, things like this make you reevaluate the way you ride and what you could have done to prevent it. Most all of your safety mishaps can be prevented though being safe.

Dang I got a wife and an 11 year old son. I think about what they would do if I was gone. It hurts just to think about it...............

everyone tonight check your bike out, and don't miss anything, also check the helmets. This is a sad day for us as riders.

..and check your attitude. Even if you're not married, someone loves you that you will leave broken-hearted and behind. Think twice before doing something impulsive.
