Obama asks Americans to Sacrifice- Takes 6th Vacation
WARNING: Political thread
Obama takes another lavish vacation with almost 10% unemployment, home sales at the slowest pace on record and Morgan Stanley predicting defaults on govt. bonds. Obama has said everyone needs to have skin in the game and sacrifice but apparently that doesn't apply to him
CNBC reporting on a state of economic depression not recession. Vice president says country is "moving in the right direction."

Are you really suprised? The big wigs always get as many vacation days as they want.
What suprises me is that the country continues to function despite the obvious disconnection between the leaders and the citizens. There is noone in washington who knows what life is like without the protection of money and position. I beleive in a better America and I beleive in change, but neither can happen when politicians care more about protecting their financial status and backing for the next election than doing whats right and protecting the interests of the people. Get the politicians out of politics and let real people make real decisions.
I will say one thing for obummer, he did kick paid lobbyists off of advisory committees. Too bad he hasn't corrected Dick Cheney's assault on unions...

Even Dave Letterman is turning on Obama...

The mere existance of a ruling party is a drain on its citizens, I dont mind footing the bill to grease the wheels so long as the machine completes its designated task, which it has not done for a long time. To identify obama as the problem is to ignore the deficiencies in the machine that created him. In my opinion every politician especially obama needs to be kicked in the nuts, have their salaries cut (they are there to serve right? If they were truely there to help people they would do it for next to nothing, like school teachers), get rid of the overwhelming cost of entry into campaigns which perpetuates the 2 candidate system, and restructure the 2 existing parties so they actually stand for something instead of saying anything for power.
I would have liked to see what would have happened if Mccain had been allowed to run his own campaign instead of being bullied by the party after receiving the nomination.
Sorry its late.....lol

Ever hear how much time other presidents took on vacation?
"President Reagan, in 1981, spent all or part of 42 days away from the White House "on vacation" at his home in Santa Barbara, Calif, according to Knoller. President Reagan and his wife, Nancy, also spent three or four days around New Year’s Day each year in Palm Springs, Calif., at the home of philanthropist Walter Annenberg. (In 1993 the late Mr. Annenberg founded the nonpartisan Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, which is FactCheck.org’s parent organization.)
President George W. Bush spent even more time away from the presidential mansion in the nation’s capital than Reagan. Of the 77 total "vacation" trips the former president made to his Texas ranch while in office, nine of them — all or part of 69 days — came during his first year as president in 2001, according to Knoller.
Bush’s father, President George H.W. Bush, spent less time "on vacation" during his first year than his son, but spent more days than President Obama. According to travel records provided to FactCheck.org by the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the former president took six trips — spanning all or part of 40 days — to the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1989. The archivist at Bush’s presidential library told us she didn’t have a list of all vacations but did have the Kennebunkport visits."

So maybe we should vote Reagan and Bush out of office then? The point is we're being asked to sacrifice our lifestyles by those who won't. Debt to GDP has never been worse yet the big spenders live it up with taxpayer funds for vacations, "date nights", golf outings, and parties at the white house with Paul McCartney while unemployment rises and pensions plummet. The 'but Johny's parents let him do it' argument is past old. The bulls**t's walkin'.

I suppose we could have obama drive everywhere he goes to save us some money, like Jimmy Carter did.....at least until he found out that he was costing us more just by shutting down 1200 miles of highways than to take Air Force One.
This is the kind of thing you get when you vote for a politician (someone who will lie cheat and steal to gain support, power, and wealth). Unfortunately in this world of politics you can't move up unless you play the game, work the system, and sell out your ideals. You cannot rid the world of the obummers that infest it until you restructure the political system that creates and rewards him and others like him...
"How does it feel to know that someone's kid in the heart of America has blood on his hands, fighting to protect your rights so that you can live a lifestyle that insults his family's existence." -"Critical Acclaim" by A7x
A little dose of reality and down to earth common sense would do the world a lot of good.
