on and off base in uniform and in civilian clothing...
Whaaaat? Since when can they policy off-duty & off-post dress code - regardless of a bike. Next they will say you can only ride green bikes off post.
This week that policy took effect...really if someone is looking at their phone texting are they going to see what color they just rolled over?!? That vest over a long sleeve t-shirt is supposed to save me??? They almost didn't let me threw the gate once because my fully armored leather jacket didn't contrast with my bike enough??? WTF??? They are just trying to make it harder for military members to ride bikes...they figure we'll get sick of all the restrictions and not ride... ...BTW...DG said she can make patches of that skull for who ever wants one...don't know what the price would be though...

well for materials and shipping I'd say $3.00.

Thinking about making a Kawi Forums patch....hmm might even personalize it with screen names or first name or whatever... just something I've been thinking about...

They really can't do anything to you if you aren't wearing all of the required equipment off post. However, if some jackass pulls out in front of you and you get into a wreck, the DOD won't pay your medical bills. It's a gamble. On post, they can make any stupid rules they want. I'm sure they really don't like military members riding bikes, because so many of us get killed on bikes. However, I'd rather abide by the regulations any day then be forced to take the cage everywhere I go.

oh yes they can...they are starting to do line of duty determintaions...for instance the one kid that did 120 through an off ramp and into a guard rail...drunk, excessive speed = no payments out to the family...if some one gets hurt and they aren't wearing their proper gear they will have to foot the medical bills...the military is tired of paying for others mistakes...

That's what I was saying. All they can do is not pay your medical bills. They can't give you a ticket or any punishment for not wearing all your gear off post. But still, the rules aren't that strict. All you have to do is wear the proper gear and you have nothing to worry about.
