Just wanted to share
About 3 years ago, I wired a small garage for a guy, and since then have developed a good friendship with him. He drove logging trucks for 40 years, and retired about 5 years ago. He builds hot rods and restores cars for people. Its really great talking to him and learning stuff. He called the other day and asked if I could order a new Pressure switch and install it on his compressor for him. I said sure.
Here is the switch. The points were welded together and would not shut off. I got them unstuck, but this thing does cycle a lot and after 3 years it was time to replace it.

This picture gives you an idea of what this guy who is 74 by the way can do. He built this one up from the frame, including painting.

Here is the current project

Frame is done already..

Body on the rotisserie, he's gonna replace the floor pans.

also acquired this without an engine, and is going to re-paint and install a new engine and tranny.

After I replaced the switch he tried to pay me, and then we had that dance at not wanting to be paid, and he was like you will take the money. In the end I took the cash, and he even threw in a box of plumbs. Man these things are good.

Here he is talking on the phone with the parts place.

I'm glad I got to know him. Finally someone older than me LOL

Man that is what I want to do when I retire! Just tinker around with old cars, and new bikes, well maybe old bikes too if they are cool. You can tell that his tinkering is his life, and it makes him happy. Some of the greatest craftsmen I've ever known were older retired guys.
That's exactly what I thought while reading this thread. There are alot of others out there though, fear not. But I sure have a ton of respect for a guy who can do all that he can do. Incredible talent.
