Default Just another day....

So I have had this Infocus DLP Data Projector in my office for a few weeks, it just stopped working and so I put it on the blueprint table and kind of forgot about it since we had a spare. Well it was pouring rain today so I thought I would do something inside.

That's when i looked over and remembered that project. So I took the thing apart, and discovered that the colored wheel that is supposed to spin was not spinning, and I almost put the thing back together thinking that there was nothing I could do to fix it, and that's when I noticed this tiny piece of plastic that was bent in and pushing against the wheel keeping it from spinning up. All back together and bam! it works.

I just love when you can spot something mechanical and make it work again. Speaking of working on small things, I have another story to relate from yesterday, that involve me having to change the transmission and some gears on something smaller than my Blackberry. My huge Gorilla hands and old man eyes don't work like they used to.... Either that or stuff is just too small for me to work on anymore,.....

This is what I found inside. So small yet that's all it took.

I still can't believe I got it all back together and it is working again!, but after working on this yesterday I suppose anything is possible. I had to change the rotor and then in the process of pushing the top blades down I proceeded to break the primary drive gear, and fortunately I had a spare. Once I got it all back together it actually flew!
