its the only bike i know of that needs scrape guards around the engine to keep the engine from scraping int he turns.

 

Those aren't scrape guards. Those are to prevent the bike from going over, should you lay it down at low speed. They are designed so a single person can right the bike, should it tip for some reason, under 25 mph.
