+1, 80's goldwings and voyagers are really a quniqe ride, therye SO much bigger than usual (providing you ride either a street/dirt bike daily) and just all around different and fun. plus the late 80's gold wing deluxe's with the gold paint and silver trim are SHARP!
The current model Goldwing is actually a very nimble machine. Once going above 5mph, it is beautifully balanced, and you could slalom it using just your thumb and pointer finger on each hand. Very well behaved machine, and a ride that rivals that of a Lincoln.

The ST1300 isn't far behind, either... much lighter, and when riding it - it's balance is also awesome too. While it is almost 150lbs heavier than my ZX9 (which is a tank to begin with), it handles as though it is a lighter bike... tossing it about is very, very easy. The FJR1300 is about 50 lbs lighter, and I also assume the new Concourse is equally as well designed. A sport-tour like an ST, FJR, or Concourse might be a very good middle-ground choice between a sport and a cruiser.

the goldwings have a very low center of mass due to the flat 4 engine. makes for a very stable ride.

MY Dad has an 07 goldwing...it is sooo different to ride. Very comfy, but a whole different animal. If you try to clutch it up it just does burn-outs

...yeah I tried it...he was pissed

Actually, you mean flat 6 1800cc's baby

Cycle World wheelied a wing a few years back.

Take a look at the frame... this is not your uncle's old Goldwing... there is a lot of performance inspiration in this chassis - and it rides like a dream.

And the St1300 can carve...

It feels really powerful, he lets me take it whenever he isn't riding.

It is fun with the wife, but not as fun as the zzr. I would really like to ride one of the concours 14's. They look like fun.

Edit: He is almost never not riding it BTW.

Besides the passager I would not be surprized to find out they also had wieght in the bags to help balance, the tire looked aired down as well.
I'd rather do a burn-out!
