I am not a wine drinker but I hear that if you get drunk off of wine and then drink lots of water the next day you feel like you are drunk all over again.

anyone know any truth in this?

Default Speculation

Two years ago I was studying to be a certified medical assistant, and according to what I've read, it's quite possible to be hung over without sleeping. Matter of fact: you're more likely to be so. Sleep, particularly REM sleep, acts as a reset for the body. For future reference, it would've been best if you had a light drink following the hard stuff, and a tall glass of water with headache medicine, and snagged 8 hours of sleep to avoid the ensuing drinking pain. Your safest bet is to stay away from anything with more than 20% alcohol by volume, but that's probably akin to asking a turtle to fly. I do have the experience of going to work with a hangover, so I definitely sympathize, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? At least you had an awesome night of hedonistic fun!

In regards to the wine and re-drunkeness issue: it is possible for--with heavier, higher alcohol wines--it to linger in the stomach lining, as it takes longer to filter through the body. When you drink water, it rehydrates and processes more quickly. For some people, ecspecially if they rarely drink and/or have a low alcohol tolerance, it will trickle down into a small 'buzz' sensation as the remnants of the wine, conducted by the water, go through the bloodstream.

interesting facts here. I find it wierd that I can drink two beers and feel pretty buzzed yet I can drink about 5 or 6 mixed drinks and not feel anything at all. What do you attribute that to?

Because when you only put a cap full of booze in your drink you can drink 5, or 6. Lol.
