I think I just saw a rider take his last fall
#11
I saw a harley rider tbone a car in front of me last year - about 6 or 8 cars ahead of me in rush hour - he was in the left lane to go straight through an intersection, doing about 40, and an oncoming car turned left in front of him. He flipped so he was inverted, and the back of his head struck the handlebar, slid across the hood of the car, then it smacked the a-pillar on the driver's side. He landed flat on his back and slid another 20 feet.
No helmet. No gear.
DOA.

I hope he did, I really don't understand what could possibly make you not want to wear one. I've just been riding around my neighborhood getting used to my bike and i have my full gear on.

I have never understood why people don't wear there gear. I have had people laugh and make fun of me before because I put on my jacket and helmet before I get on the bike. I guess they believe it will never happen to them. I rarely ever see the Harley guys wearing any gear at all, but in comparison I usually see the sport bike guys in gear.

yeah, although here I do see a lot of the sport bike guys without any gear on or at most a helmet. I've actually made such a big deal about it ever since I started to talk to my mom about riding that she's started to do the same thing.
