there's roofing school? i just figured that was when your grandpa/parents handed you a hammer, showed you the bundle or tar, and said get up on there and fix it.

What's up ******. I'm back in action. I've been in bed for a couple of days with a viral infection. They put me on quarters for 3 days, but I couldn't lay in bed for another day.

Well, usually a Gin and Tonic makes me burn whatever it is out of my body, but that's kinda hard to come by here. So I spent two days in bed, and couldn't stand it any more. I'm supposed to be in bed still, but I told my boss I was coming in to work anyway, dispite the threat of being written up for failure to follow a direct order. I was losing my mind. Now I'm here at work, still losing my mind. I love this country!

 

Is it a fall protection class, because if you already know the trade then it sounds like they just want to keep you alive now. Funny I bought like $700.00 worth of fall protection gear from Grainger, you know Miller stuff, and it turns out that because my roof is a 4-12 pitch and the low side is less than 10 ft off the ground, L&I considers it a flat roof. I don't have to use all that stuff now. Oh sure the high side is 30 ft but I never have to go up to that edge. Here is a couple of pics in case anyone is curious.







This is what I don't like to climb. Straight up, no safety ladder, only a safety belt with a sliding rail anti fall system. I like the cages wrapped around the ladder, but they are doing away with them because when guys did slip and get hurt, extraction inside the cage was really hard.
