I feel like whoring it up
If your on your own with a masters you can get up to around $60. but realistic for a company it's any where from $21 to 25 with a journymans and up to 27 with a masters
on your own you dont get company benefits and a company vehicle, thats why I work for a company.I bought my truck 3 yrs a go and just barely have 8000 miles on it,I use the co. truck for everything
By the time you pay your taxes, insurance, gas,,uniforms, advertising ,vehicle up keep, buying parts and having to pay for f*ckups your not making any better than someone working for a company
hahaha

yes we have gas cards and I start it around 530 am and dont shut it off till I get home,I dont want to get into a hot van in summer or a cold one in winter.I can't imagine how many hours they have in just idle time.
when I'm on call in winter and I actually make it home,I leave it runnin in the yard till around 9pm incase I have to go out.

some with electrical engineering and PLC control.. stuff or that nature.
when my guys at the plant couldn't cut it at fixing something that shoulda been within their realm, it cost the company $700. for a subcontracted control specialist to come in if i couldn't make it and fix their problem.
while the company that was subbed in is reputable, they have done their share of screw ups too.. the block plant i was E.E. at ran at a profit loss of $3000./hr. so when the machine was down, the guys got beat on that were subbed.. lol
they just didn't care, but they were still gettin paid... THEY didn't see that $700. for the service call tho. the contract holder did....
so theres a time where being the company man is beneficial, and when its not... its all situational...
inner city work around here in D.C. for gov't jobs is killer on the scaled stuff. $30-60. an hour if you got the right place at the right time.

Any skilled and lic. worker not making good $$ should either move to where the pay scale is better or try another profession.
I know if I wasn't making what I am I would do something else
