i have a friend who is a steward/cook on AF1 - used to be on AF2 -- his wife used to be a comercial stewardes. got the impression from them that once you got a job as a commercial pilot or stewardes it didn't really matter where you worked out of because you could fly to that airport free from where ever you lived. it just added to your commute time.
