That dude said on the first video that in something like 3 years electric motorcycles are going to be the fastest way to get down the drag strip. And I believe it.

Same here. Thats why I think the hydrogen fuel cell is the best idea so far for alternate fuels. If only we could get around the platinum problem[8D]

The power comes so fast on an electric motor that it would probably be a difficult adjustment for even veteran riders.

you could always have a variable power output that has a pre-set delay. i see it every day in industry. i worked on 150HP 500VDC variable speed/torque motors in a paper mill for 3 years. the technology is out there for precision DC motor control. i'm not sure if that bike switches the the way the batteries are hooked up (series-to-parallel) or if they're changing the way the motor windings are hooked up...

series-wound motors will spin infinitely. they will literally self destruct with no load on them upon power intoduction.

parallel-wound supplies a higher starting torque... i dunno.
and then theres the battery setup... series puts them positive to negative and doubles the voltage, but keeps the current low. parallel will cut the voltage down to what an individual cell would deliver, but current is now doubled..

i dunno.

and how did that dude think that bike (being an 8 second machine) wasn't going to take off like a raped ape?

I'll let the engineers figure out how it works. But, I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing them on the street once they're ready.

thats what i should do.. even tho i'm not too much of a drag racing fan, it'd still be fun.

i shoulda taken the job i had with the LeMans team i was with. $52,00 a year to work on the electrical system on a $2 million car (audi R8) and see the world. i'm such a dumbass.[&o]
