Default How do you ride the redine "Survey"

I have a 99 ZX7. I take off in first and go straight to second then i shift from 2 to third at about 3000 rpms then i run the redline to 4 and 5. This is a survey to see how yall do it. Do you change before you get to the redline or at the redline *This is a job debate*

Thanks in advanced for the replies.

well bro every bike is different. my old zx6 i would take it to redline in every gear if i wanted, wich i always seemed to want to...lol but my 10r i can't do that with it's got too much power for that. so i guess now i switch gears before red line. the 10r has a shift light i just switch when it comes on and it still set on the factory setting wich is like 1500 rpms before redline.

What kind of riding are you doing? Sounds like a 55 or 65mph zone you are talking about.

edit: oops you said redline. Still why short shift?

For example, my 7 for the closed circuit, I will launch at around 7 then hit my tq limit of around 10,5 before shifting.

But you are riding the new version.
Bore strokes kill some people. Or am I being vague!
My point, the 7's changed and are moderated by the rider.

Hmmm you are probably right I am not an expert in that area I was just answering the original question. But I have been told by many people that the ZX7R did not change between 98-03...was I misinformed? Enlighten me thats why I am here.
