Default How Do I Fix This?

I transported my 2004 Vulcan 2000 from Florida to Tulsa on a truck. I strapped it down, but left the kick stand down for added stability. The trip was 1,000 miles & the bouncing of the truck bent the kick stand up & now it has affected my ability to put the kickstand down, but worse than that it has affected my ability to shift gears. It is not real bad, but enough to be a problem. Can I get a pipe & just bend it back down ever so carefully, ( I mean is that a good solution), or should I take it to the shop...or otherwise? Big time bad stupid mistake. Was not thinking. Never transported a bike before & I was worried about it falling over. Live & learn. 775 pounds bouncing on that kick stand was a bit much to say the least.
Can anyone advise me please?

Thanks very much.
I will check forum for a response, or 2peteyoung@gmail.com.

Thanks to all who read this & justifiably shake there head, "What a Dummy".

Thanks again.

Clarification. The Kick stand leg is just as straight as an arrow & not bent at all. The whole kick stand apparatus is just pushed way up. The bike leans over too far when the KS is in the down position, if that helps to clarify matters.

Thanks again.

is it something that can be replaced or does it need to be bent back ? if it at allpossible can you post some pics ? if you need to beat it back, dont be afraid get a BFH and go to town. at all costs, stay away from the heat method for now.

sounds like you just need to replace it.... thats not something i would mess with if you dont do it right, or weaken another part you might come out one time and find it on its side...... id just replace it... but how is it effecting the gear shifting? is the shifter hitting it or did something happen to the tranny?

+1 i agree with ems. i would just replace the whole thing cuz the more metel bends the weaker it is. and one day it could end up on its side
