Hmm you're right they do look nice with the lower fairing.. but how popular was that option? Am I gonna find any.. or how much would it cost to add it and paint it after the fact?

Should try to pick up a used one to learn on for a couple of years. they hold their value VERY well and would be able to sell it in a year or 2 for almost as much as you paid for it(maybe even break even!) people are always selling them because they are such a good starter bike people generally keep them for a couple years then trade up. But then again I hear they are a blast to ride. but if you're lookig for a new bike i'm pretty sure you can get them from the factory with those fairings.

The other problem is the SV650S seems to be expensive.. I don't have a lot to spend on a bike.. maybe 4k for bike + gear.

depends on if you are loking for new or used. should be able to find a used one around that much maybe. but then again I havent shopped for a used bike so i dont really know what they go for.

I've been looking on ebay and most of them are 3500+.. and the old ones are ok but I like the sharp lines on the new ones (03+)

I started out on a 99' honda f4 and I loved that bike. Great to ride on and just a blast to learn. But you have to watch it, because it is fast enough to hurt you and people around you just like any street bike, so dont get too comfortable. But I think you would love an f4 or f4i. Good luck on the search.

I'm watching one on Ebay right now, it's only at the starting bid of 100 with no reserve.. 4 days left but it's less than 20 minutes from me. Now to just convince my dad to allow me to buy it [] (he's a "not while you're under my roof" kinda guy)

I am 19, taking the MSF in the spring (no winter courses here), but looking for a bike now while prices are lower.

And yes I know you're thinking.. 19, what do you need to ask for.. but I still live with my dad and he pays for school.. so ya..

I just need to present a well-organized presentation to show I'm just not looking to do wheelies and go 200 mph.
