Working on the Tool Shed and the pump house, insulating and organization for the winter. Not sure just yet how many bikes if any will get worked on but the well pump and freezers should be fine for the winter months.
My deceased grandfather would be very proud. He was a gunsmith, tinkerer, and mechanic extraordinaire. I inherited the majority of his shop tools as well as his "get your hands dirty" fix-it-yourself independence gene. I always think of him when I get into a great project. I was a young kid when he passed away. I remember him always smelling like cutting oil and Camel cigarettes. He was a "Burt Munro" type; if what you need doesn't exist, MAKE it. Most of my family thought he was an eccentric old crank. I understand him perfectly....
Sorry for the "memory lane" blather.

Drag, nah; as you can see, I'm down to the block. Waiting on valve seals to arrive. I like clean parts on reassembly. Heads, rods, rockers, valley, intake, all clean. Photos were taken after an evening of kerosene, (gentle) Scotch-brite and elbow grease. Will mop up the residue in the valley and jugs (and change oil) before she goes back together. I prefer kerosene to clean because it's petrol-based and won't leave bearing-toasting residue in the pan like degreaser. Shattered 2 sockets on head bolt removal, but didn't round-off anything. (Whew!) I love this stuff.....
