what sucks is that hd-dvd is actaully a much better format as far as the interface goes, it is a shame that sony's money won....

yeah but before sony was selfish and too propietary. so that is why they lost, now they were pumping too much money into the studios to produce blue-ray.

My next one will be a 73in Mitsubishi. That DLP unit is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen.

OMalley - if you want help I would be happy to point you in a direction
Personally - bang for the buck - the best deal under 1200$ are the Westinghouse displays. You can get a 42in for under $1k. Also - if you have cable or dish - don't bother buying a display with an HDTV Tuner in it. Just get a "monitor". It will shave $100+ off your price. Also - avoid plasma, get LCD (if not Laser based DLP)
Can't go wrong with westinghouse. They make good stuff really cheap. I got my 24 HD monitor for 350 out the door . Man 1080P looks great, I never thought there would be that big of a deal going from a normal display to an HD display, but there is a really big diffrence.

I'd go with the HD-DVD, because you know 10 years from now when all you can get is an HD-DVD player, they'll still play regular DVDs

blue ray, blue ray, blue ray. costs a lboddy fortune to get the entire systme but the boobies on blue ray are way clearer than on hd and if you get that 62" 1080then you're laughing all the way to thosebooby shots. you'll be able to count the freckles on her nipples haha

You like boobies?

rr> what do you mean 10 years from now when all you can get is an HDDVD player? Toshiba is going to stop manufacturing them by the end of March.
