My next one will be a 73in Mitsubishi. That DLP unit is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen.

OMalley - if you want help I would be happy to point you in a direction
Personally - bang for the buck - the best deal under 1200$ are the Westinghouse displays. You can get a 42in for under $1k. Also - if you have cable or dish - don't bother buying a display with an HDTV Tuner in it. Just get a "monitor". It will shave $100+ off your price. Also - avoid plasma, get LCD (if not Laser based DLP)

Thanks srobak, I'll keep that in mind.I just dropped some cash on the bike so I'll have to wait awhile longer. Just add that to the growing list of wants vs. needs.

Toshiba has repeatedly issued statements saying it is not confirming the reports over the last few days from "other sources" that Toshi is bailing.

However - as NetFlex, BB, CC and Wally World have all dumped HDDVD in recent days as well - it is only a matter of time.

That being said - I am actually kinda looking forward to the demise of HD-DVD at this point. I am going to be able to do the same thing I did with LaserDisc if Toshiba does in fact bail out...

I am going to CLEAN UP on pre-recorded media for pennies on the dollar! In the span of a few weeks after DVD began it's majority market hold I managed to bump my LD collection over 200 titles that I *actually wanted* (including some rare items) vs. having them just for the sake of having them - for less than $300. 6 months earlier - it would have cost me over $3000. I can live with that. Damn good investment, and I still watch them to this day. I don't mind at all being in the same situation with HD-DVD.
