Default Got to see a motorcycle wreck last night

A group of us met up and started riding last night around 10:00 at night. We rode up on to the rims that over look the city and stopped to enjoy the view, when one of the guys decided to do some wheelies. After doing about three or four good ones he came back by doing his last wheelie when he went back to far smacking his tail.

The poor guy fell off his bike when it hit and went sliding about 30 or 40 feet. His bike slammed back down onto his front wheel bending it and getting a few scrapes on the side. To make it worse he was riding a R1 aniversary edition and you know that won't be cheap to fix. Luckly the guy was wearing his gear and he walked away without a scratch. Talking to the guy afterwards he said he was doing around 55 or 60mph when he went down. When we asked him what happend he said he didn't realize how high the bike rose during the wheelie until it was to late (since it was dark), and on top of that it was windy.

So I guess the moral of the story is, gear up when you ride because it saved this guy a lot of pain, and lay off the tricks at night.

It really gave everyone a good scare. I don't know the guy really well, but I hate to see that happen to anyone.

when stunting, it's only a matter of time.

Yep that is so true. Glad he is okay, bikes can be fixed we sometimes can not.

True, but really if you ride, its just a matter of time, not if but when. Ridding wheelies and doing other stunts only increase the chances. Stay safe everyone, I hate to hear about accidents. Komo 4 news in Seattle had a spot on motorcycles the other day, and just this year 40 people have been killed in Washington State alone. Please take care.

At least he's okay.

Around here, there were a couple accidents over the weekend. One guy ended up in hospital with a broken femur and a couple of other breaks.

The other guy, not so lucky - only 23 years old. He got hit by a pick up truck. RIP
