Gonna get fit!

RE: Gonna get fit!
**** on dialup! You should win some kind of award for patience or something! On a side note my laptop got a virus about a 3 weeks ago, so I've been using the kids desktop. I'm being good and respectful, but dam do I miss my "girlfriends".

RE: Gonna get fit!
So after a month of vigorous exercising five times a week, I've only lost about two pounds! (give or take two pounds.) WTF?[>:]
I know I'm a little bit slimmer because some of my clothes are fitting better now. Plus, a pair of medium JoeRocket pants I bought on clearance a few months ago actually fit now! So I have lost a little bit around the waist line, yet I still have the same love handles from before. And the man cans are still a little flabby.[:'(]

You gotta start somewhere. At least going from 218 to 200 isn't that bad compared to getting under 190. At least that's the way it was for me. After a certain weight, my body just doesn't want to lose anymore, and I've got to push much harder to drop the extra pounds.

Diet is a MAJOR factor in weight loss. I'm trying to lean out as much as possible before shifting my focus to building muscle mass.
Look to eating smaller portions of "bad" foods such as soda (even diet), snack foods, junk foods, etc. Look at calories v. fat calories in food. Also, eat a small breakfast- get your metabolism started early- and eat a lot of fruits and veggies!
Also- your work-out has to be oriented towards weight loss. I found cycling for 1 hour worked GREAT for me in the begginging. I would pedal for 30 seconds on a "medium-hard" resistance level then 30 second sprints on the "med-light" resistance. I did that 6 days a week for 3 weeks.
Now I just run 4.5 miles on the treadmil under 40 minutes- run 1 mile, walk for 1 minute to reduce heart rate... run 1 more mile...walk... Then hit the free weights and do 100 sit ups
Remember- no late night snacking- reduced portions, lots of water, reduce your daily caloric intake (it will make you cranky...)
anyway- I was 182/181after doing 1.5 months or so... I am at 146. I know its a huge amount of water weight loss- but it helps
