Finally Back!
sometimes you get docks, but not much in long haul. i hated linehaul work. having to unload/load everyday. long haul is almost like pulling a box, except about every 2-3rd day you have to load or unload something. only downer is even if your a o/o. you've got to run somewhat legal. no 4500 miles a week
if you were a company driver you would have to go with a trainer for 2 weeks though to learn securment. you'd get paid 500 a week. once thing about tmc, when there drivers roll trucks, they DON'T loose the load of the trl.

man, for a company driver, that's pretty darn good.
Ya, they look like a bigger company, so legal is the only way I am sure they would run. The last outfit I hauled for only had 30 tractors total. It was kind of nice pulling for a small company. They don't have the benefits of the larger companys, with maintanace discounts, etc....But still kinda cool. Every body knows everybody.
I pulled for Dick Simon back in the day, until Central bought them out. It was nice having all the terminals, and no touch freight, but when they goverened my truck, now that wasn't right. lol
I am going to check into flat. Shoot, I might like it!!

its a diferent life style than box. box is usually 24/7on pickup delievery, flat is usually 6-4 mon-fri. if your a 100% lazy man, then box is the only way to go. i perfer box but i like the $$$ of flat too much

There's nothing worse than picking up a load at 2 in the am, then having to be 800 miles away with a mil worth of strawberrys at 10 that same night!!! aaarrrggggghhhhh...
I thought I would be cool once, and unload a meat load myself, ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! 4 hours later, two frozen and raw hands, sore back, and 43,000 lbs worth of meat, SCREW THAT!!!! lol ...Learned that the hard way. lol
I never realized flat made that much more than o/o box. Never checked into it I guess. an o/o flat should pull $130,000 clear a year or so according to their pay schedule..... Nice!!!
You guys are killing me here. Yes you guys are making some decent money but what of the family? Sorry, if any quality time? I was raised working on 6 log trucks.

But, the last place I o/o 'd at, I was thru the house 3-4 times a week. I had the 11 western, and based my self out of home. We have a cheese plant here, and I would load and try to back haul. It actually worked out pretty well.
I know if I go skateboard, I will be gone a lot again, but I am still making a decision on that one. It will have to be a family decision, so we will see.
