That is frightening. I worry about that happening to me on these SOCAL freeways all the time. Everytime there is a back up in traffic it seems like the cars in front of you go from about 80mph to about 5 in 20ft. Whenever I have to get hard on the brakes like that I keep one eye on my mirror and another on the car in front of me. I just know that one of these days I'll get rear ended by some JackA$$ who isn't paying attention. Being rear ended has to be the worst, you don't ever seem to see it coming.

yeah i was rearended in my car 2 months ago right before i was going down to tampa and i didnt realize what happened until it was all over

Probably had a cheeseburger in one hand and a cell phone in the other. What a pity. And they probably only got a whopping $30 traffic citation for it, and story to tell at the water cooler at work the next day. Meanwhile the guy on two wheels could be paralyzed for the rest of his or her life or worse simply because that schmuck didn't care enough to pay attention. Where's the justice?
