Default dark side is drawing me in

Ok here is the deal everyone. I went to the dealership here the other day and was looing at new bikes. i looked at the new 10r and the R1. My delema is that i can get the new R1 for a little over $9900. I can't get the kawai dealer to drop any thign off on the 10r. so should i jump on the r1 or hold out for the 10r to drop in price.

Any prior relationship with these dealers? What's the old adage "win on Sunday, sell on Monday." I think Kaw's will be better represented on the track (and podium) this year, which may or may not play a part in dealer sales attitude.
....anything but the ubiquitous GIXXR, please!

Most kawi dealers do not like to negotiate out the door cash deals it seems. I had to shop around in order to get my kawis. I have not read up on either ride for this year other than the normal, introductions and preliminary opinions. So looks like you need to hit up your research which may give some time for the dealers to come down in price in the middle of the year.

if it were me i would evaluate how bad i wanted the new bike. since you have a bike already it might be easier to wait. Now if you had no bike at all at the moment then it's all about getting in the wind.

I recently bought my bike and pitted two dealers against each other. I had a nice starting point with one dealer using the Costco pre-negotiated price. Part of that deal included a $250 rebate gift card from Costco. I wasn't so much interested in that, so I called the other dealer and told him what my other offer was minus the additional $250 and he took it. I probably saved about 25% OTD. Could I have saved more, probably, but I was happy with the deal I got.

Ok, so a brief follow-up to my previous post. Even thought I didn't buy it from the assigned dealer by Costco I still went ahead and filled out the rebate form. Well today I got a call from Costco to do a survey about the purchase and was told to expect my $250 card in a week. So my deal got even better!
