still thinking of cars but on alot of vehicles the RPM gauge is controlled by a wire that comes off of the coil, if it is the same on your bike then a bad coil could cause both the RPM problem and the engine running rough. still blind here but hope it helps. definately check into a manual before you sell the bike, youve gone too far to stop now and a problem like that usually has a simple solution

 

i told a coworker of mine waht the problem was he said tis prolly my ignition module. Brand new it will cost me 410 bones. he also said i coudl proly pick it up for 30-40 bucks off ebay hopefully.

 

as i mentioned before my coworker was almost garrenteed it was my cdi box. I bought one off ebay for 60 bucks so hopefully in a 2 weeks when the part gets here ill be riding agian providing that is what is wrong with the damn thing
