anyone fimilar with sleds???
k, yall' knows i just bought a whoopass sled....
but i opened it up today (the hood) and it got a couple unlabeled things that i have no idea wtf they do/are for.
first off... these
what goes where? the black one says "oil" but i dunno if its for 2-stroke oil and it mixed it and the gas itself or if its regular oil for the belts or somethin. the red cap one is empty and says nothing.
and wtf does this switch do? (left one) un-labeled, and i flipped it up and down with and without the sled running and i didnt notice anything happen.

two stroke oil on the left, when we rebuild a sled engine we run mixed fuel and oil injection just to make sure but that is the only time you should need to mix the gas and oil.
one MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR (CANNOT EPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH) MAJOR thing to check is the oil injection lines below the carbs to make sure they are flowing oil.
to do this
1.mix up a little premix gas (it wont hurt the engine to over oil it, it will just spit more oil out the exhaust for a while)
2. unplug one of the oil injection lines
3. make sure you can see the end
4 fire up the engine and run it until you see oil comming out of the line. it will only barley drip like maybe a drip ever 20 sec or so.
5. turn off engine and replace oil line
6. repete process for other side
the red cap is for coolant or overflow i would have to see a wider pic of the whole engine to make sure
the switches are either for headlights or handwarmers on the left and thumb warmer on the right. once again i need a full pic to see the model of the sled and just to ake sure.
any more questions let me know, i mechaniced on theses things for quite a while and have rebuilt plenty of these engines
main thing people mess up is not checking the oil and they will burn a piston out in less than 5 hours

have you also checked out the carbs? few hours or carb cleaning always makes a hell of a difference
another thing is make sure the race around the track bearings are greased i have seen those walk out
