MACHESNEY PARK — [/align]
A Machesney Park man was shot in his head this morning as he drove his motorcycle on North Alpine.
The man, whose name and age have not been released, told police that he was traveling north on Alpine Road near Spring Creek Road just after midnight when he felt something hit his helmet.
The man managed to drive home, police said, where he took off his helmet and realized he had been shot. The man was taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
Police have no suspects and aren’t sure whether the man was targeted or whether the shooting was random.

could have been a small caliber like a 22

 

So, would my kevlar-composite helmet stop a .22? Like the kevlar helmets we had in the Army.

 

.22 is a very fast round though...
