lol, yeah i use a crane truck to get my roofs loaded if the driveway is too long and can't get the conveyor in there. only thing is i'm kind of greedy lok so i try to use the conveyor as much as possible. conv-$65 per load and the crane is $160/hr minimum 2hrs. i have to load 5 houses tomorrow so i'll be using the crane for that necasue it'll be cheaper in the long run and faster. i got a contract out for 5 houses on the smae block. all reroofs. the end of this month is going to be crazy but i'll be walking away with 15k in 15 days.
hello road trip here i come lol!
and yes i looove my job. even when i have to carrythirty bundles up the ladder because some !d!ot forgot how to quote a job lol

what the heck is a go over? you don't mean shingling on top of another layer do you? i hate that. sure it's easy but i'd rather do a new resi job than do that. besides, the next guy that has to do a tear would kick my a$$ lol
Yep...thats what a go-over is, and the rule is not to go above 3 layers of shingles. Obviously you aren't building here in the states, because most of the new construction goes to illegal immigrants who will do it for $800...seriously. Are you guys unionized up there? I don't know how that would work with your government. Just curious.
exactly kohburn. looks new but everything underneath mihgt be rotted out and soggy, you have to rip it open to be able to do the job right.
zzrick, i have no idea if there is a union for us roofers out here, but i've never heard of one before. it's crazy that they get away with being paid so little. even on a 70 bundle new resi job i get minimum 1.5k/roof depending on the pitch

You are crazy KB, if there is no damage/leaks, and the roof is solid it is preventative maintenance to apply a new roof over the existing one. If there are leaks than it needs to be ripped open. If you are getting the roof torn off every time you are wasting money. It isn't just making it look new again...lol...it is putting a new roof on.

i hate it when contractors do that!!! its not a propper roof repair job - all it does is make it "look" new again.

and that's not all, you have to pay $1.50 for everything they load onto the roof too. not everything but all paper, poly, any kind of underlayment; icea nd water, whatever and all bundles. they give you a break if they're putting vents up lol and nails
