Hey guys, has anyone seen this before...my bike has been doing some strange things...1st when my bike is in first gear kickstand down and key on, when I squeeze the clutch the bike starts without me push the start button. Also when in neutral when I turn the key to the on position the bike startsup without me even pushing the start button. It's kind of scary...whats going on?

 

check your wiring harness for pinch point, it sounds to me that the starter botton is shorted out, which could be the wiring or the button itself. You can do a continuity test if you have a wiring schematic. You can do onefor thebutton too,disconnectyour battery, disconnect the starter button from the wiring harness, use a multimeter and put a lead oneach terminal for the starter button, see if you have continuity with the button released, then pushed in. That should tell you if your button is ok.

wow, that is some crazy story. As mentioned above, time to check out that electrical gremlin for sure. As far as the advancer goes, I never played with them.
