I believe that the ngk's are a CR9e, I did not check my manual yet on that. I have the k&n in the 7 right now. If you are familiar with washable filters, do not over oil them after cleaning.

Yea, the NGK model is CR9EIX for the iridium plugs. I would definately go with the K&N also.

what is the recomended gap on those plugs??? i dont have the manual, also will going from a stock air filter to a k&n, will that change the air/fuel mixture to the point where the bike needs to be re-jetted....i have no idea if the jets are stock or if they have been changed with the pipe, or can i just switch it out and be on my way, im not sure how tempermental these things are.

.032-.035" gap, and yes better plan on rejetting and playing with the needle height after improving airflow with a k&n filter.

Muzzy will have some recommendations on the carb setup. Have your elevation number handy.
I still use the stock needle shape but just shimmed them for my mid rpm and transition power. That was while tracking with the stock exhaust. I still have not installed my full Muzzy yet. (been in the box since 2000 I think, lol). So any numbers I give you will most likely not work for you.
Thanks for the compliment though.
