Default starting issues

I'm just curious if your bikes do this as well:

I have the clutch all the way in.
Sometimes I'll turn the key on and press the start button but it wont do anything. Sometimes it will just click. Sometimes if I try letting the clutch out a little the starter will turn over.

I'm not 100%sure about this one:
Sometimes if I'm in gear with the clutch in and engine off I have to pushthe bikealittlethen let the clutch out to get the internals(drive/powertrain) to move a little. Then hit the start button and the starter will turn over. (This is just me wondering if the internals are Stuck and the starter doesnt have enough torque to turn the engine internals over).

Obviously I need to do some more testing so I can be sure but my guess is is that the bike doesnt know the cluch is fully engaged.

thanks

i've had to do that with my 95 - hasn't done it since i rebuilt the petcock and fixed the leaky needle valve inthe carb though. i figure fuel was leaking into the cylinder and vapor locking it somehow.

like drag says, check your switch, and if you really want, remove the starter and inspect the commutator for excessive wear.. there could be a dead spot on it... but this link will save my lazy *** from typing a whole bunch!! lol..
