Paint ideas?
So I'm looking at painting my previously crashed 91 zx7. I'd like to maybe paint it all green or green and white but I'd like to see pictures of what it would look like befor I do it. Anyone got pics? Reason I want to go solid green is because it's cheaper than doing the original 3 colors. Thanks for your help.
Can't help you with the before pics, but there a lot of good books out there on DIY painting... namely, it takes buttloads of time. It's so much cheaper than paying for a paintjob from a 'professional', but it'll take you a good weekend, and that's if you devote that weekend to your bike painting. You've got to strip your fairings, let that dry, then prime & re-paint. You have to do very light coats, and let them dry before applying additional layers. You also need an environment conducive to ensuring no debris or dust or whatnot lands on your bike, but at the same time is well ventilated. I plan on setting up a mesh tarp on my apartment patio for the project I'm going to attempt. I'd almost recomment bare fairings, but I don't know the pricing and whatnot on your model of bike; I just purchased a yellow Ninja 250, and yellow's so not my color. I've been looking hardcore into a DIY re-paint, but I'm at work right now. Maybe I can swing ya some links and info later.
Good luck!

Any links would be great. I actually have access to a paint booth. I beleive I could probably paint the whole bike for about 100.00$. I just need to figure out what color and wether I am going one tone or two tone.

JoAnn Bortles has a good book on painting your motorcycle; it's geared towards custom/flashy painting but has all the painting tips you need:

There's also something to be said as to whether you want a really nice, polished finish, or if you just want to change the color. I've perused a few links/forums about a very simplistic, fast way to re-paint your bike --but that's if you don't mind a dull, black finish and don't mind it being permanent... you'd have to replace the fairings to re-do it, but it'll last you like, forever apparently-- spraying truck bed liner on your fairings. Simple, muted black finish, super-hardy, but not flashy or as eye-catching as some might want. You'd probably have to slap on a few extra reflectors/bright decals if you want to be seen if riding at night, too.

choosing a paint color is hard.......lol......my final choice for my zx750 was a color from House of Kolors called LimeTime Pearl, it looks abit like a metalic jade green with pearl, but better. ill also be having the camelian effect added to it............and hopefully turns out how i have it pictured in my head.......lol..... http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/index.jsp
hello again, here are a few examples of just the basic Limetime Pearl by House of Kolor

Those colors would look stock/pretty on the 7 for sure.
