Default Cut out at 8k??

At times it happens and at others it doesn't. When I get on the throttle around 8k it seems to ping off redline. I was just curious if anybody else had this problem and/or heard of anything like this. I am doing a tune-up on the bike this week, oil, plugs, and fuel filter. Going to see how it runs after that. I have an idea to test the coils and others components soon.
Thanks ya'll

it does it in 3rd and 4th usually. It gets to 8k and revs out as if it were at redline. 1990 H2

With a tune-up: plugs, oil, and fuel filter, the bike is smoother and rips in the gears. Yet at 4-6 at W.O.T. the bike wants to tach out from 8-10kuntil I let off-the throttle-a little bit and it starts to pick up speed.Next to look at is the carb sync and test the coils. Sound like anything anybodies some across??

I have not had that issue on my H2. Did have some probs when I did not synch my carbs correctly. Hesitation at around 5-6k on that one instance.

edit: Would bog then reach for the sky rpms

I took a trip to Carson City NV, through the mountains the bike would bog out at 6 grand in the high altitude. So I noticed that when I had reached sea level it had done it at 8k like usual... In all at W.O.T. it seems like its bogging and or "flooding" itself at the high speeds. I'm trying to narrow it down to a better description; maybe it would sound more familiar.
When the bike hesitated did it hesitate as the rpms slowly increased and or did it hesitate for that brief point of acceleration then continue with no hesitation to the higher rpms 7,8,9,10k??

Bike now has same hesitation but starts around 6k and continues up to the higher rpms at WOT. Anybody think it could be the carbs needing sycning?? Or a fuel line/petcock problem?? Anything??

You running a pipe? I shimmed my needles for the mid range. But was ar sea level when I had the sync issue at the track. Sporatic rpms and power responses. We should have hooked up, I live in Reno.

Thats to bad I was there for Hot August Nights, even went out to the Fernly drags-pretty cool-but where do I get info on shimming the needles and what range they should be in?? I have a Muzzy on it, going to put a Yoshamira on it for awhile because the Muzzy is leaking out the pop rivets.

Contact Muzzy on the shims. I do not remember what size I pressed my washers. No manual in front of me in which things are written down in.
