Default Bike changing question?

Hey, so as some may know i have a 95 zx7r and it is my first bike. Im 25 years old 6foot and 210lbs. I love this bike but i see that they dont make the 750's anymore. So my question is if next summer or the summer after i want to buy a new bike would it be hard to move from a 750 to a 636? Remember this is my first bike and i will be riding a 750 for at least a year. I guess i can always go up Anyone ever downgrade?

Default RE: Bike changing question?

size all around is the HUGE difference..

the 7 is a bit over 500lbs. the 636.. 300 somethin.

revs and power band are worlds apart. the 7 has uber grunt way down low, the 636 isn't actually too bad tho on this, but they're a little happier in the mid to upper-midrange.

the 7 motor is tons stronger than the 636.. the 6 motors HATE HATE HATE to be bounced off the rev limiter, and the components are slightly more frail than the 7. i see it ALOT from my stunter comrades here. alot of goofy *** problems and stupid things like pegmounts and whatnot breaking. i've seen the living hell get beat out of a 2nd gen 7-R and it took it without failure. (squid/F'ing ******* who later stole my 7)

the 636 is WAY WAY more nimble and a bit faster tho than the 7. weight is the primary killer.. kinda like a 4th gen supra against a 355 ferrari... the supra has more power in different areas of the revs, but the 355 is WAY less, and sadly, more nimble and balanced.

it's all taste, my man.. i'll never get off my 7. even at 511lbs and 123HP, i love it too much and have been thru hell with this thing. (mechanical mishaps, theft, cops..lol) i love me some 6R/636, and the 10-R and other bikes, but i dunno..i've ridden almost everything out there.. i'm 6'00" as well, but just at 155lbs... the 7 is a good fit for me as well.. 10 is tall.. 636 kinda is as well.. new gixxers and busa are.. 14 is too much and too wide, R1... the same..lol but feels tiny at the same time.. weird.. don't like the feel of the new zook.. never rode the new 750 yet tho.. maybe has better ergonomics than its little bro.

Hendix summed it up pretty well. Ill never get rid of my 7R. I love the thing i like the big body feel on it. My son rides a 07 GSXR600 and it is wayyyy different. It feels tight, small, and too narroww for me. It like the high rev rpm range and likes to stay there for the fact. Personal preference i like the new body on the GSXR 750. It has good line and the fairing are awsom elooking with the new tail section, new tank, and overall new look. I rode one the other day and it was very cool. Just my .2
