Default ZX6R - hard to start

Just got my bike out of the shop. Got full 30K tune up and few repairs. I've found out that it has full Akroapovic(?) exhaust system and "jetted" for that pipe. What does the "jetted" mean?

Also, due to the exhaust/pipe being jetted, I have hard time starting it. The guy started it right away, but whenever I tried to start it it just turns and turns but no start. He said leave the choke closed since it's closed unless it's cold out. Any ideas on why it doesn't want to start? And any help/suggestions? Thanks

I know on my bike, when I'm low on fuel, it starts more easily if I get on the bike and hold it upright (normally I just start it on the kickstand)...I guess the fuel flows from the tank more easily when the bike is straight up and down? IDK.

I also know that my next bike will be the new generation ZX6R; fuel injection and a gear indicator ftw.

i LOVE my 07, the gear indicator is awesome, she handles AMAZING and the fuel injection makes for easier starts and warm ups. but i also have a 98 zx6r and i use the choke all the time. unless i have been riding it in the last couple of hours.

Jetted means the carburators were fitted with the appropriate jets for that exhaust system, so that the fuel air mixture would be correct. The reason people do this is because most bikes come lean from the factory and adding an exhaust system usually makes it more lean.

will the bike being that lean cause it hard to start? if so, I guess it's not jetted..

What did the plugs look like? Were the porcelain (White part) white, brown or black? That will tell you if it's running rich or not. Also check your air filter. My supervisor has a mouse nest (really) in his air box. Make sure the air filter is clean. Drain your carbiretor float bowls (drain screw at the bottom of each bowl). Add some RXP in the tank just incase your fuel isn't that good or has water in it.
