ZX-6R Body Work
Hi everyone, I am new here, just purchased a 96 Red ZX-6R in mint condition. Or it was in mint condition till I got it. Been riding for several years but always Hondas this is my first Kawasaki. Anyway I was unloading the bike from the back of my truck yesterday and the approach angle on the ramp was too steep. I didn't notice it until I heard the crack[:@], I ended up taking a large piece of the left hand lower fairing off right around the kickstand. I have been digging around google for a couple hours and there seem to be a couple options.
1. I found one place that still has OEM plastic already in Kaw. red price would be ~$400
2. Send the fairing and piece off to one of these plastic welding joints and have it repaired don't know what the cost would be.
3. Find a suitable used replacement, no leads on one yet.
4. Buy aftermark replacement such as Maier and pay a shop to paint it. (And hope it fits properly)
If you were in position what would you do? If anyone has recommended sites or has a line on a replacement I would appreciate the info as well.

RE: ZX-6R Body Work
hey welcome to the forum.
i've heard plastic welding is pretty good. but it depends on how big the crack is. if the crack is really big. then you should go with a replacement piece. i would go with the replacement piece. cause you'll never know how good of a job the guy did on fixing you crack. plus it might save on repainting the piece. good luck. send some pics on you bike.

TNX for the replay MAD KAW. I called dealerships this morning and actually found a OEM one for $360, I think that is probably a pretty good price considering what and aftermarket +paint +labor would cost. I am pretty tempted to call them up and order it.
