There is a valve in the stock muffler. When you put a slip on you have to do something or it throws a check engine light. I got a micron dual outlet stainless. You need to decide what you like and what sounds good to you. Yosh, Leo Vince, Micron, Arrow all make good mufflers.

sportrider has some sound bites of several exhausts , they are a bit dated but I do not think the sounds have changed a lot since then .I have the Two Bros Dual Vale Titanium cannisters on my bike and the soundbites were very close to what it actually sounds like . Maybe it will at least give you some kind of guideline as to which direction you might like to go as far as choosing a exhaust .Hope this helps .

Carbon Fiber looks good and is a smudge lighter, but it needs air flow to cool to prevent delamination. I would not recommend c/f for the streets.

Stang636,

This is kinda off topic, but what exhaust do you have on your '91 stang?
I had a '93 stang that made 430rwhp w/ a s/c and had a borla exhaust on it. Loved the sound of it. I was thinking about getting a Yosh pipe for my zx6r as well.

i have the CF Yosh. i have to say i am very happy with it. when i am on the track you can always tell who is running them as they zoom by.
as for longevity, who keeps a bike forever anyways? as long as you follow the instructions when installing, it is pretty easy. just be sure to lay off the beer when playing with the undertail insulation template. they make you lay a pattern on the stuff and cut it...why in the heck didnt they just do that from the factory?
