Wheels
i am going to have my stock wheels anodized gold to match my brake calibers and rotors. It is going to cost me $80 per rim is this a good deal? I was going to powder coat them but I talked to a guy and he said anodizing them is better because it dyes the rim so it won't flake scratch or peel. Any ideas anybody????? And I don't want chrome because everyone has it. I was thinking the gold because I have not seen it done. It will probably be a couple of months before I do it. But I will post pics when I am done.

I had mine powdercoated gold before i crashed it. It didnt even chip or flake after the crash. this is what the rim looked like.

anodizing looks good for awhile, it tends to fade out and you cant use certain cleaners on it because it will eat away at the coating. eventually it will show wear faster then a powdercoated wheel. 80.00 a rim is a desent price tho. post up when you get them done.

mike, just another fyi. anodizing is a translucent coating/treatment to the metal so if you want it to shine like a ****, youll need to get the wheels smooth as silk and have them polished prior to the anodizing. do a little more research on it before and make sure the color is going to come out how you want it and this is not going to cost you 80 a wheel plus the cost of prep and polishing and so forth.

Mike, I'm going to get my wheels anodized also to match the rest of the gold. I was told that they do fade in time. Powder coating/ painting will cost $250 and anodizing will cost $120 a set. I'm gonna go with the anodizing for now. I also have a clean set of Limited Edition Red wheels with rotors and tires that I may be selling. Anyone need some?

Hopefully/ Probably next weekend. I have to get my buddy's GSXR1000 completed and out of my garage so I can work on my own stuff. I have to remove the bearings from the front wheel and the tire & bearings from the rear. I might get both of my spare sets done and put one set up for sale.
