Default What should insurance cost?

I'm finding very little difference in insurance rates for any of the ~600cc super sports. I started looking at the Kawasaki (even the ZZR), looked at a Suzuki 650-F, a Ducati and they all cost ~$2K a year full coverage. Same coverage on my KLX-250S is ~$250.

I know there are a lot of idiots on super sports that want to become famous on "youtube" and do so by crashing expensive rides but, I'm not one of them!!! I have a clean driving record and no "at fault" accidents so, I'm thinking I should be able to find reasonable insurance. A Yamaha cruiser I looked at was ~$500 and it was a 950cc ride. I'm sure it would be nicer on a once or twice a year ride but, a nice super sport would be better for those ~20 mile commutes and occasional ~100 mile rides.

What insurance companies have good rates for something like a 600cc Super Sport?

The cheapest out of the 4 or 5 companies I looked at was State Farm. I am 22 with no tickets on my record. I have an 09 ZX6R, mine is around $1800/year...its pretty ridiculous. I miss my old payments of $90/year for liability on my 05 ninja 500

i go through farmers (foremost) 25 bucks a month on a 06 636 LE, liability,
im covered full medical through work and i just saved enough in an account to pay for any damages myself. hell a full rebuild would only cost max of 4k so why spend more than that when i have had it for 3 years now?

i had quotes for a 98 zx6r at $4200/yr with other companies. i got my 07 zx6r insured for $700/yr (same price for the 98) full coverage with State Farm. when my 98 was wrecked a couple years ago (that's why i got my 07) State Farm was GREAT! no hassles on getting my money for the new bike and the broker was amazing too. i HAVE to insure another vehicle with them is the ONLY downfall. i think they basically rate the motorcycles on CC's and that's it. don't matter if it's a harley or sportbike or scooter.

im 21, have a 06 636, have way more tickets than i should have, including ones on the bike. i just signed up with progressive for the lowest costing insurance, with no extra options, and paid them 200 bucks for the entire year.

the end.

ouch stop yanking on my arm. I may be stupid to some, (mother in law included), but there is nothing wrong with $600yr full coverage even on a track bike. gmac

I see a lot of new riders in tennis shoes and shorts with no protective gear on. These bulletproof organ donors who practice what they see on the "speed channel" without proper training or gear are fools who make it tough for people like myself to get affordable insurance.

If you have a track bike, I'm assuming you have a helmet and leathers so you aren't part of this group of new "soon to be" organ donors.
