Question tires for my 06 zx6r

Ok everyone it's time for me to change out my tires on the bike i know the stock tires are 120/65zr17 on the front and a 180/55zr17 on the back but what it need to know can i use a 120/60zr17 in the front with out any issues. I know a 120/70/zr17 will rub on the cowling over the front tire. any ideas a greatly appreciated and if you all know a good place to order a good set of tires let me know.

I would rock the 120/60/17 front with a 180/55/17 rear. Sometimes you can get a decent deal with combos such as this one. Dunlop Sportmax Q2 Tire Combo | KneeDraggers for street use.

Not sure on your tire or riding preference. Just tossing the link out there as an example. As you well know, the suspension would need to be checked as well by going with the lower front profile.

My last set of tires on my 05 6r were continental attacks. I had good luck with them. Still had lots of tread on them. The original dunlops lasted along time. I got over 15k out of my front and over 12k out of my rear. Im **** about checkin airpressures and I wasnt easy on my bike hehe. Funny when people come into our shop gettin only 3 or 4k out of their tires. Tire pressures are so way off. Its a simple check that will save you.

what's going on hoedogg. do you know the sizes of tires your running on your zx6. or does any one know if a 120/70 will fit. I have been told so many things here lately on the sizes that i can't think if they said it will rub. I was told that by some one around here but that was a honda shop that sells good tires. but i have other people that i shop at down here that said a 120/70 would fit. not sure that's why i ask.

I can check into them for ya. I assume stock sizes? We are such a small biz that we dont normally do tire sales. We really dont carry alot of tires in stock. We used to but we just threw away some cause they were up in the attic for YEARS and were really hard. We sold some dirt cheap and gave no promises on how long they would last. Also I heard shinko's are good. They are cheaper too.

good to hear hd. As asked, what size? Any wear issues from suspension or possible rider aggressiveness? lol
