Tail Cowl 03 636
So I bought a tail cowl for my 03 636 and I was perplexed by the 4 rubber grommets on the underside of the cowl. What the heck are they for?
Bought the bike with SharkSkinz, so I've never seen the stock bodywork until recently.

Which ones? Some grommets go into the subframe to secure & prevent vibration.

Since y'all didn't have any idea what I was talking about I re-thought it. They are the little rubber bumpers that rest the cowl on the subframe and the plastic of the tail. Must be parts bin items, as they look exactly like the type of grommet that holds the plastic prongs on the front of the tail piece to the subframe under the front seat and also thegrommetsunder the battery box that hold the undertray to the subframe.
In my imagination, there is some kind of document/owners manual holder that would fit up into the unused space under the cowl piece. Oh well, maybe on the bike I design...

Yes, that's what they are there for; to prevent plastic to plastic/ metal contact and to reduce buzzing from vibration. Mine has them too.
