strange noises
this is the first kawasaki i have ever owned so i'm not sure if this is normal for a '06 zx-6r but a lot of times when i turn the bike off i will hear an electrical 'whining' sound that lasts for a few seconds coming from the front of the bike around the gauge, is this normal? another thing going on is that i sometimes smell gasoline coming from the same area, i don't know if this is normal or not either but coming from a guy who has never had anything but honda's i have never seen this before, any kawasaki veterans here got info for me about this?
Welcome to Kawasaki & this Forum Family. The whining is probably from the throttle valve servo. The fuel smell could be just the fumes you are smelling when the throttle valve cycles allowing the gas vapors to escape and exit throught the ramair inlet.

I hear brief hissing sounds after riding and parking in the sun. I always just assumed its fumes excapingthe tank. Not an expert but sounds like that could be it to me.

If you remove the riders/ driversseat, you will see 1 or 2 hoses running from the back or bottomof the tank down to the bottom of the bike. There may be one hose going to yur emissions system also.Just make sure that they aren't pinched or kinked.
