Depends on how you ride but if you ride agreesively at all I'd say get one. I got the Scotts (made w/Ohlins) damper; low and high speed dampening. Its great especially now that i'm running Michelin Power Race tires, things got a little more exciting. Start with the lower settings and work your way up, if its too stiff, it'll be harder to put in quick hard turning imputs. I learned this the hard way when my timing was off. Once I got it set right, really great stuff.

only got about 1800 miles on her so i am still on stock rubber. yuk!! but i am still fairly aggresive with it. seemed to make a huge difference on my buddies 03. but dont feel much difference between his bike and mine in a corner now. just wondering if it was worth the money on the 05 set up

My last bike was a 02 gixxer 1k (sorry) and the 05 636 is much more squirly even in stock form. I changed the geometry of my bike to be a little more agressive and the tires also add some agressiveness and squirlyness. So yes definitely worth the money. I love the adjustablity of the scotts and add the ohlins name to it, you cant go wrong.

I really like my Hyperpro RSC on my 03. Also, the 05-06's are more stable that the 03-04's. I used to get headshakes when I accelerated, especially when still leaned overa little and the front wheel coming up; it would shake when it touched down. Twice it scared the crap out of me so as soon as I got home, I got on ebay and started bidding for one. I haven't had a headshake since I put it on, even when i was going 161 the other night and the bike got airborne a couple of times.
