Default Start up is slow after system primes?

Ok, i've got an 05 zx-6r with a K&n, akra, and pc3. When i turn the key and let the fuel system prime i start the bike but it takes about 1.5 seconds for it start. If i turn on the bike while it's priming it fires up no problem. I'm running the akraprovic slip on map for my pc3 so i'm not sure if this is common or not.

1.5 seconds does not seem that slow to start to me, imo. is everything else allright?

sounds like the fuel pressure is bleeding down if you don't turn the key right away so it has to pump back up once you turn the key to start it.

Mine does the same thing. As far as I know it's common. As soon as I turn the key, I hit the botton. Works like a charm. Just don't wait, hit it right away.

Hey kaz, I have the same bike and mods except a full akra and seems right time to me. About 4 da-da-da-da's if that makes sense.

Run some RXP in your tank. It will clean everything!

Yeah from what you guys are saying it does sound kind of normal, if you guys are experiencing the samething. My bike has been running sweet.

except for my brakes I don't know if you guys remember..but i posted how one of my brake pads fell off when i was riding and the piston was hitting on the rotor?

well i noticed that the resevoir use to have clean looking fluids in there. but after that incident it's all dark in there and when i brake sometimes i feel the brakes pulse. I'm not sure if i have to bleed the system..but if you guys got any suggestions that will be great!

Thanks for your feedback on the fuel pump question

the fluid turns dark from contamination - usually its from the fluid slowly breaking down the seals inthe system . time for a flush.

pulsing brakes is either a warp. a thick spot or a slick spot on the rotor.

Also, change your spark plugs if it's slow to start. How is the gas? Has the bike been sitting? May have water in the system?
