Default Right tires for track?!

Hey people, well this weekend I had my first race at Homestead Miami Speedway , it was GREAT! Nothing compared to the streets... Anyways, my question is: What kind of racing tires would anybody recommend me to buy for an 06 kawi ZX6R? Thanks!

I dont know how advanced you are with your riding but it sounds like this is your 1st or may be 3rd track day!! Right ? ! Well if you want my advise I would recommend bridgestone 002 120/60/17 and 180/55/17 or the michelin power race same size with a psi of 30 front and 29 rear good luck !!

That is really cool on the race. Ya gotta love the thrill.
But tires are a personnal preference in combination with setup and how your style is. There are a lot of good track tires out there along with good street rubber to play with.

Some people like that combination. Kinda depends on the track and weather conditions. I have not played on Homestead either. Normally, will bump up 2 teeth on the rear to start and see how things go then progress from there. That is how I played it.

Congrats SAMCAR305 on your track experience. Is it the most fun you can have without being naked or what!?

What do you plan on doing; strictly full race or trackdays only? If full race, then run whatever is allowed in the class you'll be racing in, e.g. slicks or DOT race tires like the BT002 or Power Race 2CT's. If trackdays then you can run Dunlop Qualifiers or Pilot Power 2CT's. Now if you have an extra set of wheels you can run stock tires on the street and Race tires for the track. Also on the track tires, you will have to set-up your suspension for the track & tires (usually stiffer that street). Go to the Ohlins or Sportrider.comwebsite and look up how to set-up your suspension. Those tire pressures joel mentioned are a good start. Work on being smooth & relaxedand you'll go fast/er.
