Re-Gearing??

Just wondering about re-gearing my 05 636. Has anyone on here done this to their bikes yet? if so what sprocket size did you change to -1 front +2 back or what? by the way i may have put the + and - in the wrong spots please forgive me if i did. thanks in advance for any info

RE: Re-Gearing??

Welcome to the forums.... I myself and several others with the 05 zx6r have done the -1+2 (front/rear) and it is highly advisable. It is like having a new bike, it really wakes it up. You won't sacrifice much top end either, I red-lined at 155mph actual.

After the gear change, do you need to have the speedo recalibrated?

I've heard that regearing can make a bike "wheelie prone" is it true for the 636 as well?

RE: Re-Gearing??

All sport bikes are "wheelie prone" -1+2 just makes it easier. Stunters would use more like -2 and +8

I have had -1+2 for about 30,000 miles and it rocks. Besides, if you do not like it you can change back or just change to -1 in the front play with it until you find what you like.

It’s the least expensive mod you can do that gives the biggest results.
