Race tail w/ tail light
I'm considering changing out my tail fairing to a race tail. Anybody have any suggestions on how to mount the tail light or maybe options on different tail light?

RE: Race tail w/ tail light
make your cut out for the light then glass in some spots to screw the light into.

I don't think so. The stock mounting holes for the light are little brackets. If I remember correctlythey areeither fiberglassed in or a plasticeextension of the fairing..

I don't like working with fiberglass.

there plastic tabs on the stocker. dont they make a street race tail that has the light mounts allready in it ? i know i seen them somewhere.

hell just get some large cluster led's and cut out a hole in the plastic and mold them in. that would look sweet.

That'swhat I was thinking. Try to find some sort ofLED configuration already setup for a taillight, maybe from some other type of bike or maybe a trear drop like the 50's hot rods.
I've seen a couple of bikes with 2 vertical LED strips, I wish I knew what kind of bike that was, but that would look cool too. |
RE: Race tail w/ tail light
My friend just got a LED brake light from a semi truck store and fabbed up a bracket that hangs it where the license plate use to be, and his plate is down on the swing arm. Just a brake light, no turn signals or anything. He then made a mount for a fog light for a headlight. He keeps his race plastics on the bike and if he needs to ride on the street just bolts these on and goes around.

Mike the bike with the dual led rear brake is the Suzuki sv1000 or 650 I think..
