Default questions about kawasaki

Hey guys whats going on? I have been recently looking to buy either a gsx-r 600 or f4i. But I came across a 2000 kawasaki zx6r. I have been trying to look up some information but can't find a whole lot. So I have a few questions. 1. Is the zx6r and 636 the same bike? if not what is the difference? 2. How fast is the zx6r compared to a gsx-r/f4i? 3. Is $4400 a decent price for a 2000 zx6r with about 10,000 miles, and I think just a slip on pipe. Sorry for being ignorant in this post I just really don't have a lot of knowledge about the kawasaki's. Thanks for any help guys.
Chris

I am not the expert so hopefully someone will help out here since there are so many 636 owners around.

I believe the 6r is a 600 cc bike and is different from the 636 that is of course a 636 cc bike.

A 600 cc bike is fast, but depends, do you weigh 160 0r 260.

Compared to the Honda, sorry bros for using the H-word, or the GSXR they are all very close probably only about 1 hp between them. JMO but it is the rider not the machine. Valentino Rossie, sorry about the spelling, could probably do laps around me on a 250 while I was on a liter bike.

Offer 3900 cash and negotiate from there.

Your not being ignorant, how else will you learn? Welcome and good luck with your new purchase weather it is Kaw, Suzuki or what ever you are still joining the two wheel life.

Yeah, Notstock's got it right. It's the rider, not the ride... If you're in the US, and it's a US bike, then the 2000 ZX6R is just a 599cc engine, just like the rest of the 600's out there. In Europe, some of the 6R's actually had a 636 engine in them, but looked exactly the same as the 6R's... (Confused the hell out of me seeing 636 stickers on a bike that looked just like mine...).

The 2000-2002 ZX6R is the same bike (pretty much) as the 2005-2006 ZZR600, but the insurance for the ZZR is a lot less because it's classified as a "sport touring" model. So just to let you know, you can get a brand new one w/a warranty and if you plan on keeping it a few years, end up spending the same amount or less depending on how much your insurance/interest is.

The 00-02 ZX6R is widely known to be one of the most ergonomic sportbikes around, amazing headlights, and oh, it won the AMA 600 Supersport Championship in 2000... so don't let anyone tell you it's a "slow" bike.

The one major difference, is it's a carb'd bike, not fuel injected. Some see this as a bad thing, others see it as a good thing. It's really just different, there are pros and cons to both. I personally like the feel of the throttle on my 05ZZR vs. the f4i.

Thanks for your time in trying to answer my questions guys. I talked to the guy about the bike and he said he thinks he has a buyer but if its not picked up by tomorrow night he will call me back. The other bike that I am looking for are in the 2000-2004 years basically due to the fact that i have only roughly $5500 to work with. I am still searching for a bike but I will definetly be searching for a zx6r now along with the gsx-r and f4i.

I would say just to be safe go with a newer model if all possible. I bought my 2004 zx6r for I think 5800. So if u have 5500 I would spent at most 5000 cause to get a title its like $500. Hope you have a job cause your gonna need some gloves and a helmet at the least and that will be 200 at least. DOnt forget about tires too I had to go to the stealership and paid 400 for tires plus install. Oh I dont have insurance, I only ride it to school, so if you plan on riding it hard insurance is expensive as well!

Oh and if you get a zx6r which is a 636 well 2003 and up, just knowing you have the fastest stock 600 on the street is kinda cool even though its not a true 600 (636). But I would try to find a good 2003 636 and get it, youll be happier i think. Just make sure you dont buy it from an ex-racer/track guy.

I had 2 mustangs, 1 is in my profile pics. I had a 91 /5.0 /GT auto= 250hp and a 97 /4.6/ GT stick=255hp not to fast but I had 3.73 gears on both and pullies. They were fun.

ZX10 is the only way to go....lol

Man, I've owned most every kind of bike out there, and by far this Kawi is the best.. Funest to ride, great HP, handling, after market parts, dependibility.... 35,000 miles and no probs at all... You can't go wrong with the KAW man.. A buddy of mine has a gixxer... and it just does not have the ergonomics the Kawi has, and it's slower... Sit on each one, and you'll see what I'm talking about..

GL finding a bike man.... What part of the world do you live in? If you're close to my area, (NM), I'll help ya find a bike..
