Default power commander Q

okay im buying a dynojet power commander mainly cause i have a jardine slip on and i have a backfire problem ive herd cause of running rich but any way my question is pcIII plug and play or do i have to do the whole hook it up to a laptop, and will this give my hp or just properly manage my existing power thanks.

It is setup with a default map in it. Some places that you but them from will load the map that you want. Either way, it's not too difficult to download and load a new map. You should try a few different maps and see which one you like. Actually, the stock map with a Slip-on will work fine and the backfire you hear is a lean misfire when you decelerate, not rich. The fuel mixture is too lean to ignite so it ends up in the exhaust and explodes/ ignites there due to less pressure and added fuel from other cylinders.
