RE: Polished rims
wow 4 hrs isnt too bad at all... i spent like 5 hours polishing my heel gaurds this weekend, then again most of that time was spent knocking off the anodizing since the aircraft stripper i tried did NOTHING, what did you use to get the paint off?

RE: Polished rims
ok so at least im not the only one that had trouble with them lol [sm=dontgetit.gif]... the only thing that i was thinking to explain is that maybe the heel gaurds have a different paint or anodizing on there since there constantly getting rubbed by shoes and the right one getting blasted with exhaust heat. I gave up on the stripper after the 3rd time i tried leaving it on for a half hour. So i resorted to 180 grit paper, which took 3 hours each to get it off [:@]

Not bad!! Looks good.
I have about 8hrs in mine with dissasembly, taping, retaping (dont ask), reassembly.
My heel gaurds took about 20minutes each to get the coating off of them. Use a DA Sander and 800grit. Then start using a lighter cutting paper. Polish and wa la.thats about the end of the easy stuff. All the brackets are a differant story. Had to sand all the texture out. That sucked.
